The Olympic Truce
In antiquity, the Olympic Truce — ekecheiria — allowed athletes, artists and spectators to travel safely to and from Olympia for the Games. It is one of the earliest recorded agreements dedicated to protecting peaceful participation.
For Federation of Olympia, the Truce is not only a historical fact but a living message: that rivalry need not become hostility, and that a shared space for respect can be created even between those who disagree.

Why it still matters
The Truce reminds us that peace is something people actively choose and protect. Through talks, events and the Route of Truce, we invite others to reflect on how that choice can be made in their own communities.
